Michael Jackson on the other hand was maybe on of the most famous faces of the 21st and maybe 20th century. His death shocked the entire world, myself included. I signed onto Twitter to see “RIP MJ” and ‘Michael Jackson dead’ in the trending topics.
My initial thought was something similar to; I wonder when the jokes will start.
After a while, I realised that jokes about Michael Jackson have been going on for some time. Not since his death which as of writing this was still only less than 24 hours ago!
People had made jokes about the trouble he went through with the accusation that he grew very close to certain children and was accused of child molestation.
Many of you will recognise this photo:
I will admit that when I first saw this picture, I laughed. At that time, something like that was very funny. In light of what happened yesterday, this is now in very poor taste.
That is what this blog post is about. I can’t understand how people who at one point made such snide, vile remarks about a human being can now say things like: “I’m so sad he’s dead, he was such an inspiration to me”. These are the same people who called him ‘Wacko-Jacko’.
I just can’t comprehend how someone can change how they feel about someone as soon as they die!
I just don’t understand…
